Lone Worker Safety in the Swimming Pool Environment CPD.

There are many roles or tasks in the wet leisure industry that involve lone working.

During this interactive programme, learners will hear from Robbie Phillips, a lone worker safety specialist and pool plant expert. The online CPD covers general health and safety considerations relating to the specific roles and tasks that are associated with wet leisure environments and provides safety advice for lone working. There are also sections during the video that provide learners with the chance to test their knowledge by completing multiple-choice questions applicable to the previous section. On successful completion, learners will be issued a certificate of completion and gain ½ a CPD point.

Robbie Phillips, the presenter of the programme says ‘‘The experience of COVID with the shut down of leisure facilities highlighted the critical nature of lone working in potentially dangerous environments. It highlighted how communication is vital when staff and contractors could be working alone with no competent contact available in the event of an emergency.

Through this CPD we discuss, how invaluable training and the supply of alarm systems are, and why complying with HSE recommendations is essential for the protection of all workers – your staff and those you invite onto your site. Ignorance is no defence in a court of law”
