Be Mental Health Aware with STA’s NEW Online CPD

Posted on 10th October 2024

Following World Mental Health Day, a day to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health; STA is pleased to launch a NEW Mental Health Awareness CPD.

Mental health is increasingly recognised as a critical aspect of overall well-being, both personally and professionally. Understanding the importance of mental health enables individuals to identify signs of stress, anxiety and other mental health challenges early on, fostering healthier relationships, improved resilience and better performance at work and everyday life.

STA’s Mental Health Awareness CPD is aimed at anyone who wants to improve their knowledge and raise awareness of mental health for themselves and others. It is designed to provide an awareness of mental health, including how to identify if someone’s mental health may be affected and how to support them. It includes evidence, key data and signposting to trusted resources. Please note, this is an awareness CPD, not a first aid qualification.

The online programme will take approximately 3 hours and upon successful completion, 0.5 CPD points will be awarded. The programme does not expire; however, it is recommended learners revisit the CPD as often as necessary to keep knowledge up to date. The programme covers:

  • Introduction to Mental Health
  • Benefits of Good Mental Health
  • Effects of Poor Mental Health
  • Risk Factors of Mental Health Conditions
  • What Can Help?
  • Promoting a Positive Mental Health Culture
  • The Importance of Self-Care
  • Coping Strategies
  • Overview of Common Mental Health Conditions
  • Sources of Information and Further Support.

Helen Done, STA’s Qualifications and Business Development Manager said: “The importance of raising mental health awareness cannot be underestimated, which is why we are extremely proud to launch the new Mental Health Awareness CPD. It is available to anyone, and we hope it helps to support individual well-being, reduce stigma, and encourage individuals to seek help when needed.”
