New First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work Qualifications Introduced

Posted on 29th September 2017

Following a review of the First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work qualifications by the First Aid Awarding Organisations Forum (FAAOF), it was decided that the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification should be relevelled and, from 1st October 2017 it will become a level 3 qualification in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and level 6 in Scotland.

The contents of both qualifications have undergone minor changes, in particular changes to elements of the assessment criteria. The new qualification specifications are available on our website.

The new STA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, STA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, STA Award in First Aid at Work at SCQF Level 6 and STA Award in Emergency First Aid at Work at SCQF Level 6 qualifications are now registerable as of today.

Updated course resources for the new qualifications are available to download from STA Online. All courses currently registered to commence from 1st October 2017 will be automatically switched over to the new qualifications.
