Important Reminder for ATC Applications
Posted on 30th May 2018
As previously reported, as part of Safety Training Awards’ regulatory requirements as an awarding organisation, any business, organisation or tutor wanting to deliver Safety Training Awards qualifications must be an Approved Training Centre (ATC) by 1st August 2018.
With the deadline approaching, Safety Training Awards’ compliance team is urging all members to complete and submit their ATC applications as soon as possible as it may take up to 15 days to process the application. Therefore, the advice being given is that applications and all supporting documentation should be submitted to qualityassurance@safetytrainingawards.co.uk by Wednesday 11th July 2018—in 8 weeks’ time.
Louise Bangham, Senior Quality Assurance Manager clarifies: To meet regulatory requirements as an awarding organisation, we must implement this ATC model in order to offer regulated and accredited qualifications, and to meet national standards. This process is not something we are introducing to our members by choice; we are implementing this to remain compliant with the regulatory bodies—it is mandatory.
As such we are encouraging members not to wait until the deadline of the 1st August 2018 as it may take up to 15 working days to process the applications and provide an approval decision. We therefore advise members to submit their ATC applications and supporting documentation as early as possible, on or before the 11th July is the advised cut-off date.
Please be aware if approval has not been granted by the 1st August deadline date, members will not be able to register and deliver any Safety Training Awards qualifications thereafter—this is a decision that is out of our control.
confirmed Louise.
Safety Training Awards is regulated by Ofqual (England), Qualifications Wales, CCEA (Northern Ireland) and accredited by SQA Accreditation (Scotland).
How to Submit Your Application
There is no cost to gain ATC status, and to start the process you can now start to submit your application and supporting evidence in stages (before the advised cut-off date of 11th July). We will contact you on a regular basis to request any outstanding information that is required to meet the approval criteria.
Please submit all ATC documentation to qualityassurance@safetytrainingawards.co.uk. Please also refer to our ATC page for all the relevant information you need and the necessary documentation, and if you haven’t already you can watch our ATC webinar here.
If you need any additional support or have any further questions or concerns, you can attend one of STA’s Roadshows 2018, which includes an insight into Approved Training Centres by Safety Training Awards or you can contact the Centre Management Team at atc@safetytrainingawards.co.uk and we will do our very best to support you throughout this process.
